Pre Shoot Checklist

Homeowner Checklist:

Prepare Your Home for Professional Photography

To ensure your property looks its absolute best and to maximize the impact of your listing, please use these checklists to prepare for our upcoming shoot. A well-prepared home allows me to focus on capturing the best angles and lighting.

🏠 Homeowner’s Checklist: Interior & Exterior

Please complete these tasks at least 30 minutes before the photographer arrives.

Exterior & Curb Appeal

  • [ ] Clear the Driveway: Move all vehicles onto the street and away from the front of the house.

  • [ ] Hide the Trash: Place all trash cans inside the garage.

  • [ ] Landscape Cleanup: Coil garden hoses, remove weeds, and clear away any stray toys or lawn ornaments.

  • [ ] Pool & Patio: Remove the pool vacuum/cleaner and ensure patio furniture is straightened.

Interior Living Spaces

  • [ ] De-Clutter Surfaces: Clear all countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms. Remove magnets and photos from the refrigerator.

  • [ ] Lighting: Turn ON all interior lights and lamps. Ensure all light bulbs are working and are the same “temperature” (avoid mixing white and yellow bulbs in the same room).

  • [ ] Fans & Windows: Turn OFF all ceiling fans. Open all blinds and curtains to let in natural light.

  • [ ] Personal Items: Hide TV remotes, chargers, tissue boxes, and family photos to create a “model home” feel.

The “Pet-Free” Look

  • [ ] Pet Gear: Hide pet bowls, beds, and toys.

  • [ ] Secure Pets: Please ensure pets are in a kennel, a separate room not being photographed, or taken for a walk during the session.

📋 Agent’s Final Walkthrough

Agents: Please perform this 5-minute scan before the photographer starts their equipment.

  • [ ] Window Alignment: Ensure all blinds are pulled to the same height/angle across the front of the home.

  • [ ] Toilet Seats: Verify all toilet lids are closed in every bathroom.

  • [ ] Door Check: Open all interior doors to help with the flow of the floor plan.

  • [ ] Straighten Up: Check that dining chairs are pushed in and pillows are “chopped” or straightened.
